Welcome to ichdu ("ichdu", "we", "us", "our"). We design, build, host and maintain personal websites for our clients ("you", "your"). By using our website or engaging our services, you agree to these Terms & Disclaimers. We've tried to keep them friendly and clear. Please read them, and message us if anything is unclear before you begin.

1. Our services

ichdu provides website design, build, hosting and maintenance services. Specific work, timelines and pricing are agreed with you before we begin. Prices shown on our website are starting prices and may vary depending on the size and complexity of your project. Prices may change over time; the price we quote and you accept for your project is the price that applies to that project.

Search engine optimisation (SEO): our standard service focuses on building a clean, working, good-looking website — not on search-engine ranking. Sensible basics may be included, but ongoing SEO (keyword research, content strategy, link building or ranking improvements) is not part of the standard build and can be arranged separately as an optional paid service. We do not guarantee any particular search ranking, indexing or amount of traffic.

2. Payment

Website creation is a one-time fee starting at $100. Hosting is billed monthly and renews automatically until cancelled; an annual billing option is also available at a discounted rate. Three hosting tiers are offered: Basic, starting at $15 per month (hosting only, no edits); Plus, starting at $25 per month, which includes one site edit per week; and Pro, starting at $40 per month, which includes up to three site edits per week and faster turnaround. Online stores and other bespoke projects are quoted individually. Secure card payments are handled via Stripe. Fees are due as agreed before work is published or hosting begins.

3. Hosting is optional

You are never required to host your website with us. Once your site is built and paid for, you may choose to host it with us or with any other provider you prefer. If you choose not to host with us, ongoing maintenance, updates and technical support from us may not be available.

4. Domain names & transfers

We can help you register or connect a domain name as part of your build. Domain registration fees are set by the registrar and are additional to our fees. If you later wish to transfer your domain name to another registrar or provider, you are responsible for any transfer, registration or renewal fees involved. We will reasonably assist with a transfer on request.

5. Your content & copyright

You are responsible for the text, images, logos, videos and any other material you provide to us ("Client Content"). By providing Client Content, you confirm that you own it or have the necessary rights and permissions to use it. ichdu builds and hosts your website at your request and using the materials you supply, and is not liable for any copyright, trademark or other intellectual-property infringement arising from Client Content. If we are notified of an infringement, we may remove or disable the affected content.

6. Edits & "weekly edits"

On the Plus and Pro hosting plans, an "edit" means one meaningful update within a calendar week — for example adding or swapping photos, updating text, or adding a new section. Plus includes one edit per week; Pro includes up to three edits per week. Unused weekly edits do not roll over. If you regularly need more edits than your plan allows, we'll suggest moving you up a tier rather than declining the work. Substantial redesigns, new multi-page sections, custom development or e-commerce/online-store features fall outside a standard edit and are quoted separately.

7. Turnaround & cooperation

Typical turnaround is around seven days from receiving your content, but timelines depend on how quickly you provide materials and feedback. We are not responsible for delays caused by late or incomplete Client Content.

8. Disclaimers & limitation of liability

We take great care with your website, but our services are provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent permitted by law:

• We do not guarantee any specific results, including traffic, search-engine rankings, leads or sales.
• We are not liable for any loss of data, revenue, profits, business, goodwill or other indirect or consequential loss arising from your website or its hosting.
• We are not liable for downtime, interruptions or issues caused by third-party providers (such as domain registrars, hosting infrastructure, payment processors or form services).
• Where we are found liable despite the above, our total liability is limited to the fees you paid us for the specific service giving rise to the claim.

Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded.

9. Backups & loss

While we aim to keep your site safe, you are encouraged to keep your own copies of any important content you provide. ichdu is not liable for loss of Client Content or website data.

10. Cancellation

Hosting can be cancelled at any time and will run until the end of the paid period; hosting fees already paid are generally non-refundable. Website creation fees cover work performed and are non-refundable once work has begun, except as required by law.

11. Acceptable use

You agree not to use our services for anything unlawful, harmful, deceptive or infringing. We may decline or discontinue work that we reasonably believe breaches this section or applicable law.

12. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The version in effect when you engage a service applies to that service. Continued use of our website means you accept the current Terms.
